The Cecobois Challenge

Every year, the Cecobois challenge is a contest organized during the Salon de la forêt in Québec City, where students from different universities, build wooden structures based on different criteria in groups of 4 to 5 students. It allows each participants to experience the possibilities and benefits of the wood material and also to manage communication between architects and engineers. Indeed, each team had students in both fields.

Cadwork is a proud sponsor of the competition since 2012, giving a free student license to every participants of the four winning teams.

In January 2017, 50 students participated to the 8th edition of the contest, hosted at the Université Laval in Quebec City. They were coming from the Université Laval, the Université de Sherbrooke, the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, the Université de Montréal and from the Polytechnique. This year, the challenge was to build a reduced model with a 1:50 scale of a structure housing an aquatic center. The innovative design of the structure was also a criterion.

Teams were able to build outstanding structures within a restricted time frame of a weekend
